Luxurious Mediterranean Lifestyle and an Exclusive Residence in Ibiza

Blanco de Ibiza Luxurious Mediterranean Lifestyle and an Exclusive Residence in Ibiza

When seeing homes like Blanco de Ibiza, the first thing that crosses my mind is that the ancient Greek gods knew exactly what a healthy, tidy and abundant life was all about. Reflected upon the “mortals”, this made them crave for a god-like lifestyle treatment. It is hard to say what triggers the idea that an exclusive lifestyle comes from “above”, but like me, many imagine that the Mediterrean iconic figures drift into a sea of luxury and comfort. The house was built more than 30 years ago and it has been recently restored by the architect Malales Martinez Canut pointing on the perfect blending of two diverse architectural styles, Mediterrean and Spanish.

Blanco de Ibiza, as the name sais it, is a gorgeous large white “palace” with Mediterrean accents and wooden furniture from Bali. The breezy environment sprinkled with natural fabrics such as reed, cotton and the natural colors such as green or blue create the perfect spot for relaxation. With a stunning view upon the Mediterrean Sea, Blanco de Ibiza is simply enchanting. The infinite blue horizon reflects in all those turquise subtle elements  of décor, that scatter over the lounge chairs. Old authentic fabrics meet new, contemporary materials, creating a unique style. Embracing the Mediterrean breeze, the beautiful oasis of tranquility, created by Malales Martinez Canut, expands its charm upon the “mortals”, just like the nectar “conquered” the Greek gods.

Quiet Sophisticated House in Auckland, New Zealand

Overview Lucerne House Quiet Sophisticated House in Auckland, New Zealand

Meet extravagance and subtle luxurious details! The residential project, Lucerne House, Auckland, New Zealand designed by Daniel Marshall Architects is the result of an ingenious plan that implied a conceptual reframing of a house. What was really curious and different about it was the insertion of  a garage which had to be concealed and included into the house’s design line. The client’s wish was to obtain that perfect mix of functional and outstanding, in order to accommodate an exquisite line of classic cars. Like the architects said:  “The brief was very specific, with garaging a number of classic cars a primary concern.”

Having that in mind, the architects created a wide parking area, carefully masking the garage and adding a touch of personality to the residence. As you step inside, you enter a place flooded with light. In my opinion this is the optimum way of creating a joyful environment. The contemporary -classic fusion of black and white, along with the elegant line of furniture inspire comfort and fit perfectly with the client’s taste for classic design. The element of surprise is undoubtedly the chandelier, the artistic object of design that embellishes the living room. Large glossy spheres of glass hang from the ceiling, making an impression on whoever visits this place. Plenty of glass has been used for the finishing, creating a transparent and spacious environment. Nothing seems too much or too little. It’s the right amount of everything to keep those classic details rocking. Neutral and classy, the project is an outstanding home, with outstanding details of interior design.

Innovative and Functional Sofa by Marcin Wielgosz

Hocky1 Innovative and Functional Sofa by Marcin Wielgosz

Marcin Wielgosz, the head designer at merely , a start-up furniture firm from Poland, sent us some photos and explained what their latest project called Hocky was all about. Since it seemed so innovative and wonderful, we have decided to share it with you. Hocky is a comfortable and functional piece of furniture, made entirely of segments which once sticked together, form a comfy sofa. Otherwise, the segments have their own individual functionality, serving as armchairs. The concept aims to offer freedom, so let your imagination float: choose the colours and the fabrics and let the designers handle the rest.

Pointing on its functionality,  Hocky’s armrests transform themselves into small tables in a blink of an eye. It’s really wonderful and interesting how Hocky adapts, following the stream of your needs: no matter if you want a sofa, a small couch and an armchair or only armchairs, this object of domestic use creates endless possibilities to configure an optimal workplace. The hardwood tables support laptops, books and other stuff you need for work or leisure. Hocky is simple, functional and claims your creativity. It’s the freedom of choosing, moving, combining and testing that makes it such an interesting piece of furniture! Now that you know our opinion, how do you feel about it?

Comfortable Rectangular Home in the Idyllic Country of Austria

Front House in Austria Comfortable Rectangular Home in the Idyllic Country of Austria

The Royer House, spotted on Architizer is a compact, rectangular shaped home in Austria, entirely designed by the Kienesberger Schröckenfuchs Architektur firm. The house, located in a quiet neighborhood nearby Wels is ideal for a small family in search of adopting a peaceful lifestyle, being fond of simple, yet comfortable design. Finished in 2010, the project  implies in addition to the house itself, a stunning interior garden, a green space for relaxation, that completes the plain, non-outstanding front street scenario.

The house has a narrow front entrance with narrow windows, creating a shelter of intimacy for its inhabitants. We can easily say that the  Royer House is a surprising, yet contradictory home. Its exterior is wrapped in a plain, minimalistic look, being neither creative nor outstanding. But then, as you seep inside, the landscape is completely transformed. A wide space, flooded by light, with furniture made of beautiful solid natural wood welcomes you in the most warm and homey way possible. The living and kitchen area are connected to the interior garden, offering an amazing view upon the green maze of trees and grass. Large wood framed windows, simple furniture lines, an idyllic garden and a new angle of perception. Comfort has just become more accessible. Would you make this your permanent home?
